Hagop Aprahamian (b. 1965) received his B.F.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Lowel in 1988. In his artwork, he focuses on the human condition, exploring the relationship between figures and their environments through his personal perspective. Though his techniques and tools vary, Hagop favors working with oil sticks on paper, creating thick textures and layers that he often scrapes away later to reveal older colors and textures beneath. While he describes his style as highly symbolic, his ultimate aim is to create an honest expression.
